- You may use AI to support your studies (such as, researching topics, generating ideas, summarising notes, proofreading).
- Any AI use in assessed work must be declared.
- You are responsible for the accuracy and originality of everything you submit.
- Do not upload any Cambridge Online course content into AI tools without explicit permission.
- Unacknowledged AI-generated content may be treated as academic misconduct.
Appropriate uses of AI
Examples include:
- researching topics
- rephrasing complex concepts
- generating ideas or outlines
- summarising or organising notes
- proofreading or checking grammar
- getting feedback on early drafts
- helping plan group work.
Inappropriate uses of AI
Examples include:
- submitting AI-generated content as your own
- failing to acknowledge your use of AI
- relying on AI instead of developing your own understanding
- uploading course materials to AI tools without permission.
How to declare AI use
Include a brief statement in your submission if you use AI. Examples:
'I used ChatGPT-4 and Perplexity.ai to suggest further reading, proofread my work and check whether I covered all required points.'
'All text is my own. I used ChatGPT to identify grammar issues and highlight a section that required further detail.'
